100% Taquito began as a school project in University of Houston in the prestigious Entrepreneurship program.  Its mission was to recreate the experience of eating in the streets of Mexico City, one of the largest cities in the world.  Throughout this magnificent city, there are thousands of trailers, hole in the wall restaurant, and tiny stand selling small tacos, and other typical foods.  To achieve this experience, 100% Taquito began operating from an actual trailer, in the summer of 1996, selling tacos in a parking lot.  Two years later it moved to it’s current storefront and in 2003 expanded in size, yet it kept its taco stand façade, staying true to its heritage and mission.
